Community Consultations Support Series: (4) Oral cancers - red flags and early detection

Wednesday 22 September 2021 | 7pm - 8pm

This session will explore the growing issue of oral cancer in the UK and worldwide. Pharmacists are a widely and freely available source of health advice for patients and may be the first point of contact for patients with new signs and symptoms of oral cancer. At the end of this session you will be able to:
-    Demonstrate knowledge of risk factors for oral cancer and understand the interventions available for modifiable risk factors
-    Demonstrate an increased awareness of the presenting signs and symptoms of oral and other head and neck cancers
-    Demonstrate appropriate initial management of a patient presenting with oral ulceration/signs of oral cancer, including referral
-    Feel more confident in supporting patients following treatment for head and neck cancers
