Designed to guide you through your foundation training year, come along to our interactive webinars programme and have the opportunity to get your questions answered. Expert speakers are here to get you ready for your GPhC assessment in 2024! See below what will be covered and when.
 
These webinars are free to attend for everyone on the Membership Programme, but you'll need to confirm your attendance for each session on the booking link below. Our Revision Course and Mock exams will be open for booking later on in the year. 

Key milestones for the foundation training year: Insights from designated supervisors and training leads

Wednesday 13 September 2023 | 7pm - 8pm

Trainees will learn about key milestones for the training year, such as progress reviews, and gain advice on how best to approach the year. We will also provide an overview of the GPhC IET standards and learning outcomes, giving trainees examples of scenarios that can be used as evidence of practice.

By the end of the session, trainees will be able to:
•    Identify key dates for the foundation training year
•    Apply the GPhC IET standards and learning outcomes to practice and their learning
•    Collate evidence to support the GPhC standards and learning outcomes
•    Define the progress review process
•    Confidently prepare for the first progress review
•    Find solutions to challenges during the foundation training year

Focus on law & ethics: The Medicines, Ethics and Practice as an essential resource
Wednesday 11 October 2023 | 7pm - 8pm

The Medicines, Ethics and Practice is an essential resource for foundation training practice and revision. Trainees will learn about common pharmacy law and ethics scenarios and understand how to use the MEP to resolve issues and find answers to questions. 

You will have the opportunity to work through practice examples with the support of our speakers and gain confidence in approaching law and ethics situations in practice. 

By the end of the session, trainees will be able to:
•    Effectively use the MEP to support practice, learning and revision
•    Identify common pharmacy law and ethics scenarios
•    Find solutions to common pharmacy law and ethics scenarios
•    Identify areas of development in the topic of pharmacy law and ethics

Focus on clinical conditions: Using SmPCs, PILs, the BNF and clinical resources to support your revision
Wednesday 22 November 2023 | 7pm - 8pm

The registration assessment requires trainees to use additional resources, such as photographs and dosing information to answer questions.

During this session trainees will learn how to extract information from a range of resources. We will provide an overview of the general format to each resource and explain how they can support your learning and practice in clinical areas. We’ll provide tips on how to use online pdfs and documents during the assessment. 

By the end of the session, trainees will be able to:
•    Identify key resources to support your revision
•    Use SmPCs to answer clinical practice scenarios and questions
•    Use the BNF and BNFC to answer clinical practice scenarios and questions
•    Use other clinical resources to answer clinical practice scenarios and questions
•    Identify areas of development in the topic of clinical conditions and use of clinical resources

Revising for your registration assessment

Wednesday 17 January 2024 | 7pm - 8pm

Trainees will learn techniques on how best to approach revision. We explain how to use the GPhC assessment framework to support your learning and revision.

You’ll gain tips from experienced pharmacists. The session has been designed to complement the RPS revision course and help you start preparing for your revision and registration assessment.

We will recommend key resources to help you prepare for your assessment.

By the end of the session, trainees will be able to:
•    Outline key topic areas in the GPhC assessment framework
•    Use the GPhC assessment framework to plan your revision
•    Develop a more focussed plan for your revision
•    Understand how RPS resources such as ONtrack can support your revision
